Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

    Need help with viewbox conditional

    Hi Everyone,

    I have a viewbox that was working great until I tried to have the background
    color change if the value for pulltime is not null.

    I thought the layout in the image below would work, but reality proved me wrong.

    Any help I can get with this would be greatly appreciated.

    Gregg

    Code:
    .products-container {
    display: grid;
    grid-template-columns: 55% 45%;
    border-bottom: solid gray 1px;
    padding:0px;
    font-size:1.5em;
    }

    .data-middle {
    text-align: left;
    background-color: lightblue;
    font-weight:bold;
    padding-left:5px;
    }
    .data-pulled {
    text-align: left;
    background-color: gold;
    font-weight:bold;
    padding-left:5px;
    }
    .data-right {
    text-align: left;
    background-color: lightgray;
    padding-left:5px;
    }
    .listItemSelected {
    color: #000;
    background: #659eff;
    border-style: solid;
    border-width: 3px;
    border-color: red;
    padding:0px;
    }

    { *if pulltime == '' } don't use {} in when referring to a value with commands in a template.

        Thanks Pete.
        I have something goofy that I'm trying to work out.
        It throws an error in the if block for the first run, but after that there's no error.

          are you still using null or are you using '' as in my post?

              I got it figured out.
              Turns out pulltime wasn't in the viewbox as expected.
              I used pullData.forEach( (ele) => ele.pulltime = ''); which almost solved the problem.
              After I fixed the viewbox source, the {*if pulledtime === null} works as expected.

              2023-01-02_5-57-07.png
              Code:
              /* code to populate selectedPullVB from pulllistVB */
              var eData = selectedRow.eventData[0]
              var destPTR = {dialog.Object}.getControl('selectedPullVB');
              var sourcePTR = {dialog.Object}.getControl('pulllistVB');
              var sourceData = sourcePTR.data;
              var filtered = sourceData.filter( function(sourceData){
                   return sourceData.pulllist == eData.ListID
                   }
              I configured pulllistVB to include the pulledtime column.
              selectedPullVB is populated and displayed with only the pulllist data
              selected by the end user.
              After I disable the onclick event, the end user will be able to scroll up and down
              the selectedPullVB, populating the hidden pulled time value when he/she
              scans the matching unitID barcode .

                It doesn't look like you have the viewbox set to fill container - any reason?

                Anyhow you got there -so that's good.

                  Nothing more than being unsure about the behavior of panels and potentially
                  wanting to share the screen space with more data.

                    I don't' know why you would be doing that - anyhow you put the viewbox in a container, set and and set the viewbox to fill container, set the height of the container height you want the viewbox to have - then anything else in the panel will also be available for scrolling.
