Default Date on a Mobile App

I have a date control on a mobile app. (So it's in a UX)

The date control is not connected to any tables or lists.

The default value for the date control is =Date()

If I go to that UX from my desktop in a webpage, the date field comes up with the correct date (todays)

However, when I go to that control from inside the actual mobile app on my mobile phone, the date is NOT today's date. It appears to be the date that I compiled the app.

How can I correctly and consistently set a date field to be the current date on an app?

Note: My version of Alpha is 8417 in case that makes a difference.

System Time: The date() function queries the system or server for the current date and time.
Meaning if you want you can setup your own date and time server and retrieve it from there,
You have to check the setting in your mobile.

ofcourse, Gregg, but you said it before, Microsoft, can do some patch leads to many things
not sure what his case, but you can setup your own time server to avoid any confusing

After thinking about it for a while, I figured it would be helpful to supply the "simple" javascript function.

I'll try using Javascript instead.

Just to be clear, the mobile app was last published in August. The Date() function is returning 8/24/2023. So my point was that it is NOT actually going to the server to get the date. In part, I was wondering if =Date() works on a mobile app at all in the context of a UX control.

But the javascript function provided above should give me the date I need.

Unfortunately, it means I have to recompile and republish the app - but such is life.
