Request for a clearer video of this tutorial (Secrets to Filtering Data based on User Alpha Anywhere)

After 5 years of leaving alpha, I again got interested in it and tried to browse some tutorials and came across this on youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BOxYJUoPl5c I tried to view it but with signs of aging I could not see it clearly and the sound is a bit low even if I set it to 100%. It is all about filtering records based on the currenlty logged in user. Is there a clearer video for this tutorial or maybe an updated technique since this is a tutorial 9 or 10 years ago ,

This is the easiest way add these two functions to your xbasic functions scripts. You can use this format to access anything in the Context. Security functions.
Examples are using UX-wide state variables - you need to get used to using them, if you want to develop independently.

One a state variable is set you can use it client and servers side (server/javascript)

xbasic reverence or set a state variable.
e._state.currentUser = '123'

I presume you're needing to filter system wide? User logs in and only sees data based on their userid? Is this a web based app or mobile? The tables that store this data have a userid column, right?

Here is one way...

In your login component you could set a session variable for the userid in the onLogin server-side event.

     context.session.userid = pUser.userId

Now you can set a UX (and grid) argument to equal that of this new session variable (session.userid) anywhere in your web app. In a list control, for example, you'd use this in the sql data source filter.
