Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

    PWA AJAX Callbacks

I'm working on setting up a PWA. I have everything I need completed, except for the most important part of the app, which is connecting the AJAX Callback portion.

The below image shows the helper window, plus I drew in what I've tried so far, (first adding green, then red, then blue), and still have no luck.

    What am I missing?

It looks like the last part (Blue) is correct.

    What error(s) are you getting?

    What is not working?

Are you sure everything is published properly to respond to any requests?

I have tried all options I can think of, and even tried restarting my computer each time, emptying the cache and hard reloading in between each try.

I'm not getting any errors at all. It just does the Ajax spinning wheel until it times out.

When I click the login button, I get the spinning wheel (which is just basic JavaScript/CSS that times out after the default ~5 seconds)

Honestly, I have no idea. I published how I do with all of my other Apps, but no clue. I've even tried to pull everything out of the PWA folder and put it directly in the project folder directly below the a5webroot.

To be clear: I have not set something like this up before, but that doesn't mean it won't help to do some standard tests.

        1) Between each line of javascript you are running, put a console.log('message'); command so you can see how far through the javascript it is getting.

        2) similarly, between each line of xbasic you are running (within reason), put some sort of log. Either send some data to a log table or to a file. That way you can see exactly how far along in the script it is getting before stopping.

        3) You should put this code in both the calling script and in any script on the answering page. Also, put logging scripts into the answering page in events that will at least give you a clue whether the page is being called (such as oninitialize) whether you are using them or not. Make sure you modify each message so you know where it came from. That will at least tell you whether or not it is calling the pwa page at all.

        Just my suggestion.

My PWA apps use the base URL for the Ajax callbacks. So, what you have typed in there. No green, red or blue. Of course, they are the Default app as well.

            Hi,
I don't know if you figured it out,
in my case I had to tick in the UX component :
            Add CORS HEader
            CORS allow origin
            CORS allow private network
I don't when these were added... but it worked perfectly
            I hope this helps

I can get the PWA to function with Ajax Callbacks locally published (and have them make callbacks to an external server), but have not been able to get them set up once published onto my server.
