Hello everyone,
I am running into an issue on one of our test workstations and I cannot seem to find the root of the cause.
We copy our project to the workstation, change the SQL connection string to point to the MSSQL server on that computer. We run our .sql files on the MSSQL server to set up the database just as it is set up on our development server. We test the project in Live Preview, it works flawlessly. We publish the project, ensuring all the files are in the appropriate location. We launch out Application Server and load our website; this is where things begin to break down.
The website takes 5+ minutes to load; the root cause is 'Issue connecting to the MSSQL server.' with the following error:
We look this error up and notice that it could be an issue with the MSSQL server, so we spend 2 hours diagnosing the MSSQL server. The settings for the MSSQL server is the exact same as on our development server; including firewall settings. We are able to connect to the server through other means and other applications, including connecting to it through the Live Preview. We test the Application Server once again and while we're able to load the website it's unable to connect to the MSSQL database.
We're at a complete loss as to where to go from this point. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Joshua
