Hello,
I am hoping that some of the savvy testers in this forum would point me out to the right direction in regards to the best practices for setting up an online test server on a development machine.
I'm developing a web SaaS and mobile application (the same project) and I need to test the offline capabilities of the mobile application in a live environment.
I did set up the PhoneGap Shell and the PhoneGap build was successful. I scanned the qr code and installed the app. When I ran it it opens the Shell but doesn't show the added MobileAppUX. I know it's because of the option in the Alpha PhoneGap Project Build Options. Mr Selwyn discusses it in this PhoneGap Shell video.
Attached is a picture of the Help on the URL for Ajax Callback specifying the need to have a server that is accessible online.
In order to have a better understanding of how things work, I want to be able to test the mobile app online using my phone. I have the latest build of AA and the WAS license with IIS. I haven't installed WAS yet (license has not been activated yet) and I have IIS installed in the machine. This project must be run under IIS and WAS and I'd like to test under this configuration.
How do i go about setting this up? Any documentation about achieving part of this process? My understanding is that I should buy the domain name, install WAS and have IIS integrated then create an instance on the running port, set up port forwarding ...
Please advise. Your help is very much appreciated.
Thank you
