Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

  • Embedded object shows only a blank page

I need help again. I am getting so frustrated with alpha. Stuff works one day and then it doesn't the next. If I run into a problem it takes hours to search through the available documentation for an answer. Those videos are handy when you finally find the one that can help you but they are so difficult to navigate through. Does anyone know of somewhere where how to resources are easy available. I feel so irritated having to come here and post about every single little thing that goes wrong because I didn't know of some hidden setting or special way I need to do something. I guess with experience it will get better but to launch the first product is taking forever and everyone is getting frustrated. Ok rant over.

I have a HTML page with the login UX embedded inside of it.
Once the user logs in it goes to the UX embedded within the login screen.
This used to work fine for months and now when it redirects after login it just goes to a blank page.
    I didn't change any settings
When I restore old backups it still goes to a blank screen

Re: Embedded object shows only a blank page

Not completely sure, but... to use a grammatical expression... I think you're mixing your metaphors.

You have an a5w page loading a UX which utilizes Integrated Login. When a successful login occurs you want to activate the Panel_Activation panelcard of your UX... that's where your embedded UX lives.

But... I don't think you can... or should... do this. Not positive, but I don't think it's a good idea.

There are 2 UX Component Templates for Logins. One is Web based and the other is Mobile. You're using the Mobile component.

Here's what I think the problem is. You have security set for your embedded component. When your main UX loads, the embedded component loads and security says you don't have permission... because you haven't logged in yet.

So... Project Security says... no permission? Go to your index.a5w page - because that's what you have defined in Project Security.

You're mixing 2 Login/Security processes. One from the Integrated Login... and one from the Project. I think they're bumping into each other... and the Project security is taking over.

If you set your Embedded component security to Always Allowed, you will not have an issue.

You're using a Login component which is designed for Mobile use... where... all embedded components are set to Always Allowed. Once logged in, the developer controls where to go and what is allowed... not any automated security.

Overall... is this a Web app... or a Mobile app. If you say it's a Mobile app running on a device in a browser... then... no... it's not... it's a Web app.

Something else you could try if you want to set security on your Embedded UX. Try setting your Embedded Object "Delay render till visible" property as checked.

The Embedded UX will be loaded after login. But... I still think this is mixing stuff up because if a user logs in and does not have permission to view the Embedded UX, then you'll be re-directed out of your UX.
