To use variables on forms and reports, you need to define them in the appropriate tab that you saw. I've become a big fan of variables as you can use them to define information in a script and then use them in reports, letters and forms. This method gives you much more control over exactly what to display and how.

Like you said, you're pretty new to this, so it may take a bit of work to wrap your head around it.
( and there are many of us here WELL past the age of 20 or 30, so don't feel you're alone...)

When you define the variables in the layout, define them with a "null" value. The value defined in the script that calls the layout will override anything in the variable definition

examples of definition in a form:

date:
vdDate = {}
character:
vcField = ""
Number:
vnNum = 0

You can call them anything, but you must be consistent between the script and the layout.

I'll try to figure out what you put in response.

Can you tell me if there is a way to change the Alpha Anywhere message box blue header where it says Alpha Anywhere "Do you wish to save the record" or other ones like that?
It is for desktop application. If you make an application with developer license and run-time license would it say the application title you give or Alpha Anywhere on any pop up that may happen.
Just trying to hide all the details of how it was created.
