Alpha Desktop crashing when trying to save an import

Just encountered this for the first time today. Every time I try to save a character separted import alpha crashes. The import works fine but cannot be saved.

How are you importing?
is the CSV corrupt?
Is the delimiter correct?
Are you importing Headers?

If you can import all the records, you should sort each field ascending and descending. Look for odd data at the top of each column as you do that.
If all else fails post the first line and header to the messageboard

if sensitive data send it to me as a private message or email.

Basic mathematic proof steps.

Break the import file into smaller parts with an editor.

Import the first line only and header if you have field names.

Then do a couple of more lines.

Then do half the file.

Continue each step until it fails.

The import works fine imports the records when I try to save it for future use Alpha crashes.

So the Import Operation won't save?
I presume you are using an operation?

I would check windows event viewer to trouble shoot this to start.

Have you tried converting the operation to a Xbasic script?

I worked off line with dptesta's CSV file.

Used 10.5 to import just fine and saved the import operation.

Sent the workspace to him and am waiting to hear back.

Suggested a detail step by step of when and what failed.

Suggested since it might be a corrupt workspace, build a new workspace and trying there since import operations are stored in the workspace structure files.

Otherwise we start looking a build numbers....

Sudden thought while ironing.
!0.5 is solid, but if installed on Win 10, you may need to run both Compatability Check and Run as Administrator just once.
The way to check this is to try and display the Help documentation. If it crashes, you need to do the above.
Everything else seems to work, so it's a bit difficult to pinpoint.

Yes all true. Good to note for those running older versions on win 10 or 11.

This threads issue is more about AA.

Sorry, I assumed that as you used 10.5 Al, Don was trying to use it too.
So, did your version of AA import and save the operation?
It was not clear what version was in use.
