I have just been asked to do a small desktop app to scan in documents. I researched this board and found some information much of it pretty old. I copied some code and tried some of the ActiveX stuff with very little success. Probably because the trial stuff wouldn't work and I didn't want to buy something only to find out the product didn't work the way I wanted.
I want to push a button on a form and have the document scanned and saved to a folder. Just a progress bar showing the scan.
Well, I found a free and open source product that seems to do exactly what I want.
https://www.naps2.com/ NAPS2 (Not Another PDF Scanner 2)
It installs as a regular piece of software, but can be run using the command line. This is far more easy than trying to debug ActiveX commands. Also, properties can be set simply by running the program instead of hard coding.
Here's my test script:
I was wondering if anyone else has any experience with this product.
