How do I get today's date in format 23/08/2011 eg (dd/mm/yyyy) in Inline Javascript from var x=new date();?

Keith, I think you are going to have to parse the string using JS to get what you want.

You will probably have to get more familiar with JavaScript. Here is an example of parsing some string values with JS:

//Set starting time
var now = new Date();
var hours = now.getHours();
var minutes = now.getMinutes();
var d= (hours) + ':' + (minutes<10?'0'+minutes:minutes);

{grid.Object}._setValue('D','START',d);


//Get Ending time from field & parse (if it exists)

var pos2 = hm2.search(/:/);
var h2 = hm2.substr(0,pos2);

As I mentioned in my opening thread, I'm already starting with var now = new Date();

How do I get just the date part?

I'm just giving you an example of working w. JS. As I said, I think you are going to have to parse the variable.

Try this. Note that getMonth() returns the month starting at 0 so you have to add one to it to get what you want.

var d=new Date();

var formateddate = (d.getDate()+'/'+ (d.getMonth()+1)+'/' + d.getFullYear());

alert(formateddate);

This is what I managed to learn and do.

var now =new Date();
var year = now.getFullYear();
var month=now.getMonth()+1;
var day = now.getDate();

if (month<10)
{
month='0'+month;
}
var Today=(day+'/'+month+'/'+year);

This learning stuff is fun. Thanks again for your replies.
