Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

    Ok i submit

I need to pick up one of the Version 10.5 Feature Packs but all the links on the Alpha Site seem to direct me to the New version 11. although a week ago it was fine when I purchased one. Has Alpha now decided to throw Version 10 in the bin leaving us high and dry until we commit to V11?

    Anyone else having problems?

You could open up Alpha, click on the Tools link at the top. (I don't think it is always available, but is at control panel, or when you open up Alpha, then close the select database window. At the bottom of the list is feature packs, which takes you to "install feature packs", and you click that, and it will have the enable/disable list, with a link at the bottom that will take you to the list of available feature packs where you can click and purchase them.

Or to simplify it takes you to this page:

            http://downloads.alphasoftware.com/a...20135869980206

And it has a link to buy here:

            https://www.alphasoftware.com/shop/i...asp?PRODID=938

Yes I could have just posted the link, but this is how everyone can find all the available feature packs. (And how I just noticed I don't think I got the custom help feature pack. and I think I should have.)

              Thanks Guys for your replies

Still can not get it as it keeps redirecting me to the new Alphasoftware.co.uk site, have tried going at it from all different routes but still end up at the UK site. Very Strange, must be me which is not unusual!
I will get on to them on Monday

              Thanks Again

                Re: Ok i submit

It does say your coming from France, so it may be detecting that, and redirecting you to the UK site instead of bringing up the page. There could be government import/export rules involved here. I know I have had trouble watching some Doctor Who interviews on BBC. It blocks me since I am in the US.

And I just tried to see what would happen to me if I went to the Alpha Software UK site, and while the top of the page was still the UK site, the products window was linked, and showed the US site.

                  Re: Ok i submit

Well I have spent another day trying to purchase the import exel/ascii feature pack but still can not find away in to the Alpha purchase page whether it be the .com or ,co.uk sites. I did email Selwyn but as yet have not had a reply, even emailed sales, but that seems a waste of time. I expect that they do not want to take our money any longer, to busy with V11
Has anyone else tried and been successful ordering anything lately? If so would you give me the secret password to the purchase order page
