Base on a value from MySQL to hide a column in the new Dialog2 (v11)

Hi,

I hope someone from the Alpha community can help me to resolve this:

The following codes work on a Grid Components (on GridExecute event), when I tried to use a similar approach on the new Dialog2 (v11) somehow it does not work - please refer to my codes in brown below. Appreciate if someone can tell me where is the problem.

I don't have an explanation for why the code does not work in a dialog. I tried it as well and got errors. But going a different route to get to your table does work. This just expands the connection stuff so that it's very specific.

Sorry... wrote too soon... this still doesn't hide the control... still looking.

I don't know if I have the code wrong or you can't do this in a dialog or there's a problem, but here's another way to do this.

Change the e.javascript above to the following... changing the FIELDNAME to your own. Here's the field and label style are being set to a display of none.

e.javascript = "$('{grid.componentname}.LBL.R{GRID.ROWNUMBER}.FIELDNAME').style.display = 'none';$('{grid.componentname}.V.R{GRID.ROWNUMBER}.FIELDNAME').style.display = 'none';"

Export your dialog, zip it, and post it here... that way I can work with your dialog instead of guessing what might be going on.

I twigged my codes by including the e.JavaScript syntax provided you and it works now.
Here is the new codes:

if e.rv.session.var_mc = "No" then
e.javascript = "$('{grid.componentname}.LBL.R{GRID.ROWNUMBER}.JE_CUR').style.display = 'none';$('{grid.componentname}.V.R{GRID.ROWNUMBER}.JE_CUR').style.display = 'none';"

Note: JE_CUR is my fieldname.
