The concept here is to select open purchase orders for a given vendor and fill a dialog's controls with values from the selected records. This would be for entering a bill against one or more po's.
I have a dialog2 component that's being opened from a grid using action javascript. The first control in the dialog is a dropdown where the user selects a vendor. When a selection is made in the dropdown on new records (ID = 0), I need to check if there are open purchase orders for that selection and if so, open a (dialog or grid) and display them. Ideally, it would show a message first asking the user if they want see open po's for that selection.
The next step is to take the users section(s), (need to allow multiple) and fill a repeating section with the values from the selection. I can do that if I just have the list of record ID's from the users selection.
I have successfully opened a dialog from the onChange event of the dropdown and passed in an argument to show the appropriate records in a listbox control, but;
1. It doesn't check if there are open po's first before opening the dialog.
2. Don't know how to get the selected values back to the calling dialog.
3. Also, I would like to display 3 or 4 fields in the list (Reference, Date, Memo) and a listbox only allows 1 (from what I've seen).
Is anyone doing something similar or have any ideas how to go about this?
