I would like to create a default set of events for a calendar that users can see but not change. But they can add events around the default events. Specifically, the issue is booking time for use of a resource such as an office. The office has default times each week where it is occupied but other times users can schedule time in the office.

Is there a way to make specific records (events) read only, but allow for others to be added and/or updated?
