Hi,
I'm creating a simple quality assurance application where I've connected to both our web store data and our ebay listings data. I'm using sets and a copy operation to create a table that compares data from both. Then I'm using a post operation to replace certain pieces of data in the original active link table if the data is incorrect. For instance, if the price on an ebay listing does match the price from our store, the post replaces the price for that ebay listing with the price from the store. This has worked great for checking and fixing prices and estimated max delivery times on our ebay listings. But, now I'm getting stuck with the warranty.
Ebay requires that warranty be included in the description, which is a block of HTML. So, when I bring that in to A5 it needs to be a memo (is there an alternative?). I am able to create the set and copy operation just fine, and I was able to create a string replace function as the condition for when to post. The problem is that the post operation apparently doesn't work with memo fields. When I write the expression in the post operation I get an error saying it does not evaluate to a character field. By searching through here it looks like a few others had discovered that you can't post a memo too, and were able to figure out work-arounds for their unique problems. But, it doesn't seem like any of those solutions will work for my situation.
Can anyone think of any other way to do this? Basically, if the value of the warranty field from our store does not match a particular string from within the ebay description field (HTML and very long), I need to replace the ebay description field in the original active link table with a new one that is exactly the same except it has replaced the incorrect warranty with the value of the correct warranty from our store table.
Thanks!
Carl
