session.company not populating

What am I missing here? puser.userid is working, but when I try to use it in lookupupc it is not creating session.company. I don't get an error message I just can't retrieve the variable in the free form edit region: ? session.company, or in the initial value property of a field: session.company

a5ws_logged_in_user_values(pUser) 'gets logged in user data to pointer 'pUser'.

Try removing this line: dim pUser.userid as c

You can also try on your a5w page:

? pUser.userid

and see if you get the value.

I assume your index "V_id" is good?

I recreated the dbf table with V_id as a auto incremented character field with index ascending. It only has 2 records in it. I tried removing the line you suggested, no go.
I am able to populate the grid with puser.userid 's value. So that much works.

Something must be up with the way I am using lookupupc, I pulled this off an old a5w page that Steve Wood helped me with way back when.

session.company = alltrim(lookupc("F",alltrim(pUser.userid),"Company","[COLOR="#FF0000"][pathalias.adb_path]\[/COLOR]vendor2","V_id"))

I was misunderstanding the function, and I did not have the email field indexed. This worked, thank you for your help Peter. It got me on the right track. Got it working.

That's good, Bob. But you will still need the alias. What you have will work locally but not when you publish to your web site.
