I saw a reasonable long thread in Version 8 about data loss in an app, even after the data is verified as entered. I am using 10.5 on W10 machine
There were several ideas but I couldn't really find an answer/solution.
My app, running solely on a desktop, non-network setup overall runs fine, with just one set in use and a variety of parent/child, 1-many links driving two multi-tabbed items on one form. I use embedded browses based on the 1-many links.
I have one link, however, that is giving me a fit.
1. Is it reliable and proper to use a 1-many link on a grandchild link. In other words, I have a parent-child link that works fine. I have a child to child 1- many link from that child link and it simply does not hold the data in the child table. It shows as saved in my form but when I close the form, or change to another portion of the tabbed form, and return to the "troubled" tab/record, the data is gone, including in the child table itself. I am the only person using the app.
2. I know it is hard to help someone when the app is generically described, but I am wondering if it is proper to connect different sets on a form. Linking them together, I guess, is something I would have to learn as I have never done that before.
Hope this comes through as udnerstandbale.
Thanks in advance.
