Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

Keith, here in New England that would be called a light dusting. In Buffalo that wouldn't even be considered a snow fall. They've got 5 or 6 feet now.

          Re: Global Warming?

          Keith,

I've heard a theory that further melting of arctic ices can slow down an Atlantic tropical current which in turn can create an ice age - making the temperatures in the UK plummet by 40 degrees!

          http://www.nerc.ac.uk/research/issue...ange/rapid.asp

So let's hope that you are not indeed seeing the first of the supposed ice age triggered by global warming.

            Hi Russ,

            Happy New Year.

In China they had 18ft which was enough to stop a train for 20 hours with 1800 people on board.

I know that in the USA every thing is bigger but I did not know it was snow flakes as well!!

Oh yeah, the flakes here are a foot across. It only takes a few to cover a car.;)

Everything is relative! You have big flakes to cover big SUV's we all drive around in small Japanese cars so only need smaller flakes :-)

In the mild part of the UK where I live they are calling this the worst snowfall for 30 years. It has been a whole TEN INCHES!!! Schools are closed and there is panic buying of basic groceries in the stores!

Mind you it has been good fun watching my two Westies bouncing around like spring lambs in the snow!

10 inches is due tomorrow - for the second or third time this winter.. Not so good though if it's abnormal and beyond the normal preparation...

I love it cuz there is enough snow to go out and enjoy it..

(and I have a 4 wheel drive vehicle to get around) - maybe it caused the snow???? or those other freeze overs of the earth that happened a couple of million years ago...

I used to work for a Japanese company, and once visited the head office in northern Japan in January. They were issuing warnings because an unusually large number of people were getting hurt climbing out the second story windows and tripping over the power lines.
