Testing success of sys_open()

I use the following to open a Site:
sys_open("https://vision21.txdmv.gov/Vehicle/VehicleLookup.aspx")
(anyone can test this.)


Is there a way to programmatically determine IF the site opened successfully, or that the Site was Not available, such as down for maintainance, etc.

Right now I ask (UI_) the user if it was opened successfully before putting info into the Site's data fields.
(A bit cumbersome.)

I would uset http_get() to test.

Result = HTTP_GET( "www.alphasoftware.com")
? result.error_code
= 0

Result = HTTP_GET( "www.alphasoftware.gov")
? result.error_code
= 16048

I believe Martin Cole has had multiple problems with hostavailable(). I don't know if these have been resolved or not.

I get .T. for a lot of invalid site url's using HostAvailble("sitename")
For HTTP_GET()
I can get a lot of results > 0 but not real errors, such as "security issue", or certificate missing, etc...1801
I could use :

nResult = HTTP_GET("Sitename") 
if nResult > 15999
  error handling
end

However, I tried this and the Results:

dim bResult as B
bResult = http_get_page2("https://vision21.txdmv.gov/Vehicle/VehicleLookup.aspx")

?len(bResult)
= 22565

dim bResult as B
bResult = http_get_page2("https://vision21.txdmv.org/Vehicle/VehicleLookup.aspx")
?len(bResult)
= 0

So, for this particular site I will use:

If len(bResult) < 2000 .or. HTTP_GET("Sitename") > 15999
  msgbox("","Site is down. Try Later.")
  end
end if

I do a bunch of:
sys_send_keys(upper(alltrim(LicNo.text)))
sys_send_keys("{TAB}")
etc. etc.

It fills in entry fields & then submits them on the Web "Form".

I'd love to do a:
"http://www.vision21....lookups/AddressVerify.asp?name=&Company=&Address=" + cModAddr + "&city=&state=&zip="+ .......

But I do not know the format.
Any Ideas...?

Seems to be easily doable on that page. It would be regressive for someone like me with v8 to suggest the best way to do this. I am sure it's much easier in v10. I'll let someone else jump in.
