Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

    Hi Cristiano,

What are you doing at the moment that you are not able to use it properly?

Are you putting the 'Page X of Y' in the Page Header or even the Page Footer?

Test with any of the reports in AlphaSports. Drag drop PageXOfY into the footer next to "PAGENO". Size the PageXOfY wide enough to display the whole text. Preview.
      There can be only one.

          Hi all,

The PageXOfY is in the page footer, but the problem is this is invoices report and some invoice have only 1 page and others have more than 1 page , and the PageXOfY give me the number of the page (x) with the total of the record (y) . but I need that the pagexofy count the pages of the invoice that have more than 1 page.

Are you saying you want page x of y but to reset/start over for each invoice?

It's very simple. Put it on the 'Continuation Header for Report' section of your report, and you'll have it on every page except the first.

                  Hi Christiano,

Do you want to run a batch of invoices? If yes, how are you requesting the batch?

                      Cristiano,
as I mentioned in a post no. 7th.
In addition to that, inserts an group into the report, set the group to changes with every change of the invoices number, and set each group to start in a new page.

In the report filter you could set up filter for invoices. And set up arguments to choose range of invoices to print, instead off all invoices. The value for those argument you will submeted at report starts with dialogue that you'll created with arguments.

                        Hi draganksg ,

is not too clear, in my report I have on the 'Continuation Header for Report' the 'pagexofy' and this 'Continuation Header ' already is a group of the Invoice number, also I do no understood the second part of your 3d : " ....In the report filter you could set up filter for invoices. And set up arguments to choose range of invoices to print, instead off all invoices. The value for those argument you will submeted at report starts with dialogue that you'll created with arguments. ..." do you know if exist a sample for this ?

                          Re: PAGE X of Y

The page number of each page of a group is a simple calculated field, pageno(grp->your_group_name).

The total number of pages for each group is not readily available.

The easiest solution is to print each invoice separately via an xbasic loop and use the built in pagexofy system variable.

If you know the maximum number of detail lines that will fit on an an invoice you could derive the number of pages for an invoice from the record count of the child table records which fit the report filter constraints.

In Alphasports, Invoices can be printed in batches depending on the criteria of the selection. Select Invoices under Reports.

I'm sure that each invoice would have it's own page numbering, as all the individual invoices are not being printed as a single report, which is what Page x of y would show.
