Hello all,
I've just upgraded to A5v9 Platinum and I am having a little difficulty in creating an active link table to an Oracle db. I'm using Platinum 2095_3264
I click on New Active Link,
Create a single active link table
Specify my connect string and get connected
Now, this is where I feel the problem lies. In the "Tables/Views" dropdown box I only see a few tables and this is because the Oracle userid I have doesn't have all the tables in it's "view".
I therefore click on "Custom SQL select statement" and endter my query in the SQL select statement area. The query is:
select * from workplace
When I click on "Preview Data" I can see the data in the Oracle table.
I click on "Next" and select "Read-Only"
Click on "Next" and "Finish"
I then enter a name to save the link as and I get the attached error (Error1.jpg)
OK, so I tried using the query builder, selecting "Add Table" and checking the "Synonyms" box
I see my table with the prefix of "Public". I select the table and click on OK and Next until the dialogs exit, then I get an error saying "ORA-00903:invalid table name."
Ok, so I go back and change the autogenerated Sql to the following:
select * from cameng.workplace (where cameng is the owner of the table)
Again, I can query the data but when I "OK" and "Next" out to the finish and give the link a name, I get the attached error (Error2.jpg) which states that the quoted string is not properly terminated. I tried adding a ';' although it's not needed and this threw up error1 again.
Is this a problem in A5 or in the remote Oracle database setup ?
Thanks
Ciaran
