I am not able to reproduce the results of the Alpha Five Classes and Students template and am missing a subtlety somewhere. I believe the issue is why the M:M set is not proposed when a browse is created.
The Alpha Template is based on the following set Classes to students which is defined as below:
The default form created from this set looks like this:
When I place a custom browse on this template form, it allows me to select from list including fields from both Students_ and_Classes and Students as follows:
I am not able to reproduce this single browse on my form and instead get two separate unconnected browses when I create a default form.
I have defined a set SetPerson as follows:
When I create a default form here’s what I get:
What I was expecting was a single browse with these fields
When I try to place my own browse on the created default form,
and have to specify the one to many link:
setPerson is not proposed, rather list of tables such as tblPersonOrganization, tblOrganization, etc.
Since my set structure parallels that of the template, I am puzzled why I am not achieving the same results. I have reviewed the design notes for the template, which do not discuss this issue.
frmPersonOrganization in the attached was created by Alpha Five and illustrates this problem.

The Alpha Template is based on the following set Classes to students which is defined as below:
Code:
Classes (Class_Id) ----Students_and_Classes (Class_Id, Student_Id) --------Students (Student_Id)
Code:
Name and other descriptive fields from table Classes Browse 1 fields: Student_Id field from table Students_and_Classes Student name and other descriptive fields from table Students
Code:
Students_and_Classes>Student_Id Students_and_Classes>Grade Students>First name Students>Address etc.
I have defined a set SetPerson as follows:
Code:
tblPerson(Person_Id) ----tlbPersonOrganization(Person_Id, Organization_Id) --------tblOrganization(Organization_Id)
Code:
Name and other descriptive fields from table Person (OK) Browse 1: Organization_Id, Job_title Browse 2: Organization_name, Class
Code:
Organization_Id, Job_title, Organization_name, Class
and have to specify the one to many link:
setPerson is not proposed, rather list of tables such as tblPersonOrganization, tblOrganization, etc.
