Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

How to synch Embeded Browse and form

How to synch between Embeded Browse and form?

I have set, parent table, child table.
    I created form from set
and also create form and embeded browse from child table placed on set

I can add record in the embeded browse with no problem butThe problem is
when I edit/change/save the value in form (create from child table) it will effect only the first row of embeded browse while I select or highlight the embeded browse not the first row. The current record of form and the highlight row of embeded browse (from the same child table) is not the same record, or not synch each other. How can I synch it between the highlight row in embeded browse I select and the record of form I keyin the data (I don't want to keyin directly into the embeded browse.

I know this can fix in the V10, but after I purchase V10 this problem is solved but it's still has the refresh problem (I also send bug report and the Alpha team tell me this problem (refresh problem) will solve next patch.

so anybody please recommend me how to solve this problem , the data not synch between embeded browse and form that created from the same table and use it in set?
what script or comand? and where I can put it in form or browse?

    Thank you in advance

    Not understanding your setup.
Not understanding the data entry sequence that's giving you trouble.

In the typical edit child record case the SET based form would have fields from the parent table and an embedded browse displaying related child table records. A rowdblclk or button push event would run a script that gets the record number of the currently selected child table record, opens a separate form based on the child table only, and navigates to the selected record and then displays that record to the user for edits. The save button on the called child form would include commands to refresh the display in the calling form, which remains open throughout.

I'm having a hard time following your problem too. But if v10 has already half fixed the problem, and the next patch fixes the other half, aren't you in good shape? The next patch will probably be out in a few days if past history is any guide.

Re: How to synch Embeded Browse and form

        Hi Tom,

        Thank you for your advise.
I have more details , please see the attached file. I change some area in english for you easily what I'm trying to do. The structure of application I modify from AlphaSport.
I have set ;Invoice Header (parent), Invoice Items(child) but what I do more is the sub-form. Usually I can use Zoom botton to edit the data in the row I select in the embeded browse. However I have some purpose to edit the data directly from sub-form and save it into the highlight row I select in the embeded browse. The problem is it can save into the first row while I select the second or the third row of embeded browse.
How can I key in the data and save it from the sub-form (on the right) and data can be saved into the row I select(highlight) in the embeded browse.

Please recommend me how to synch each other between embeded browse and sub-form or where else I can find more to solve this problem because for V9 I have to solve while V10 I have to waiting for patch.
