OnRowDblClick / XBasic question

Hi,

I have what I hope is a simple XBasic Code question � any help is appreciated. I am writing a Dupe Checker for mailing lists in Alpha Five. Once duplicate or near duplicate records are identified, my program adds a Dupe Group number [DUPE_GRP, N, 6, 0], which keeps the original record with it�s duplicates, adds a �Keep� or �Delete� tag in an 8 character field [KEEP_DEL, C, 6]; �Keep� if it�s the unmarked �survivor� record, �Delete� if it(they) is(are) its duplicates, which have been marked by Alpha Five.

Once this has been accomplished, I then display the duplicate records grouped together, with �Keep� (unmarked) records, first, followed by �Delete� (marked) records; each group separated by a blank line for easier viewing.

So here is the problem. I would like to write an OnRowDblClick event in XBasic which would toggle records between Keeps and Deletes. If the record contains �Keep� in the KEEP_DEL field and is unmarked, a double mouse click would change it to Delete� and mark the record; and visa versa.

The form is called �Dupes Display�, and its embedded browse is called �Browse_Dupes�.

I don�t think that this should be difficult� (?)� (right?)�

Hello Geoffrey,

You have form level methods *.mark_record() and *.unmark_record() and table level *.mark() and *.unmark().
You also have table level methods *.is_marked() and is_unmarked(). I like to use table level methods whenever I can so I'd do something like this:

t = Dupes Display:tables:TheTableName.this
if [your logic goes here] then
t.change_begin()
t.mark()
t.change_end
else
t.change_begin()
t.unmark()
t.change_end()
end if

ps Don't put spaces in table and form names. At some point I'll bet it will bite you.
