I know this has probably been asked several times, but I'm having a tough time finding the answer.
I have a simple set for employee training that consists of a parent table and a child table. The parent table lists the employees names, addresses, assignments, ID numbers, etc. The child table lists their dates of training, the type of training, the location, etc.
I have created a form that lists the employee info (parent table) at the top, and has an embedded browse underneath that lists the training information. (child table)
My goal is to have it so that I can enter an employee into a new record with the date at the top, and list his or her training data at the bottom for that particular date. Then when going back and looking through the records, when I find and employee and the correct date, I should only see training that was done on that particular date.
The problem is that when I created the set, I could only find a way to link the child table to the parent table by one field. If I pick "ID No," then I end up getting ALL of the employee's training in the browse box, not just the training for that particular date. If I chose to link the two by "Date," then I get training for ALL employees on that particular date in the browse box, that's only supposed to be showing data for that particular employee.
Is there a way to form a parent-child relationship with more than one link, so that the child always returns a more "filtered" display in the browse?
(I've used the v6 Web Application Server component builder, and it's very easy with that program to have more than one link for the parent-child relationship, but I don't see how to accomplish this with the normal desktop version.)
Thanks
