current time field on form

I am trying to put a field on a form that will show the current/real time like the xp time on the tool bar. looked at Now() function and most of time() functions. does it exist or do I need to write code?

What I am attempting to do is have a running clock on the form so the operator knows what the current time is. All i have been able to do is refresh it (the time field) when a button is pushed, etc. This is more a convenience for the operator than anthing else.

Jerry Brightbill provided some code on the V6 forum while back that displayed the current date and time on a custom toolbar that should do what you want. It's not on a form, but close.

If you are talking about a real time clock that is running do the following:

On the form (in design mode) create a calculated field:

Time=ToTime(ToSeconds(Time()),12,0)

Place this field on your form.
On the form OnTimer enter:

Time.refresh()

On the form property/Form Tab set the time interval (in seconds) to 1

You do not have to press any buttons, etc to refresh the time, It keeps on
tickin' even if you open another form.

If you place a calculated field as stated below what shows up on the for in the cal. field is the letter "F" am I missing something ?

On the form (in design mode) create a calculated field:

Time=ToTime(ToSeconds(Time()),12,0)

Place this field on your form.
On the form OnTimer enter:

Time.refresh()

what I used was;
time("0h:0m:0s am")
as the calc,
then in onTimer time.refresh()
and on form prop. set timer at 1 second
see if that works.

I have tried to duplicate what you did wrong and the only thing I could come up with is you use the drop down calculated box to create your formula.
Attached is a picture of what I think you did and my results = T

Time = totime(toseconds(time()),12,0)

Did you put this expression in the expression field? If you did then you need to remove the "Time=" part and only put the rest of the expr there. Time is the name of the field.
