On Tab Change

I know I'm a pain, but how can I filter records in a browse placed on a tabbed object - say Page 3 - and only show browse records with a specific key field?

Tried running a query which works fine from the A5 menu with focus on the browse, but can't get the query to run automatically!

I've seen something about OnTabChange but cannot find it now.

Been there, seen that, coded as

On Tab Change

Get Tab No

Select
case tab = 1
run query a
case tab = 2
run query b
case else tab = 3
run query c

end select

Doesn't run against the embedded browse.

Try this--you can use it to have different filters or sorts or run a script ( saved query) or whatever...the following assumes your tabbed object is Tabbed1

dim t as p 
t = table.current()

sheet = topparent:TABBED1.tab_get()
if sheet=1 then 
	query.filter="some_field"
elseif sheet=2 then 
	query.filter="some_field"
elseif sheet=3 then 
	query.filter="some_field"
end if
i = t.query_create()

For your situation maybe this--

dim t as p 
t = table.current()

sheet = topparent:TABBED1.tab_get()
if sheet=1 then 
	run query a
elseif sheet=2 then 
	run query b
elseif sheet=3 then 
	run query c
end if

Ted,
Is this embedded browse present in the tabbed object a browse to a child table or is it a browse for the parent table? Are you maybe seeking the browse for a parent to show a different view of the parent when another filter is already binding the parent?

Solution as suggested by Mike C

'Inline-Xbasic. Converted from: Run Saved Query 'Admission' in current form.
'Run Saved Query 'Admission' in current form.
dim t as p
t = table.current()
sheet = topparent:TABBED1.tab_get()
if sheet=1 then
topparent.Run_Saved_Query("Admission")
elseif sheet=2 then
topparent.Run_Saved_Query("Health")
end if

The Queries are built in the Operations section as you would expect. To prove their working ability, I added a button to the form and triggered it. Copied the code from the button/events/show x basic into the above on tab change event.
