Hi,
I think I may be doing something wrong in the way i "call"
my application to start on the network...
I have 2 dell computers running XP pro set-up las follows:
Computer1(Main)
data files(application,dbf,scripts) stored in C:\Cirque
Alpha4V8 in C:\Alpha4v8 (also the a4v8net file)
Private directory called MainUser.
Computer2(Slave)
Alpha4V8 in C:\Alpha4v8 (also the a4v8net file)
Private directory called SlaveUser.
Also a mapped drive ( Z ) that points to C:\Cirque on the Main computer.
Questions..
Can i modify the "shortcut" in Start, Program... to start my application?
Am i suppose to have both computers point to the same a4v8net file (the install process puts a copy on each computer).
What happens if i don't change to a private directory before i start A4V8.exe
Can anyone hep me with command line option i should be using.
When i use a batch file with just the path to my data, Alpha4 starts but i must choose a startup set or dbf, then my application starts why???
here is what's in the batch: (for the Main computer)
CD \MainUser
C:\Alpha4v8\a4v8.exe C:\Cirque\ -N=C:\Alpha4v8 -D=C:\Cirque -A=CirqueV2.app
if this is good, do i just substitute C for Z for the -N switch or can it point to the copy on slave computer?
Thanks for your help
