Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

    Re: CSS driving me crazy!

Thanks! I just downloaded the pre-release. Rendered a couple ux forms. They are much better but not quite exactly the same when rendered within a tabbedui. When rendered in live preview and uploaded to browser it looks the same as a Working Preview. Those rendered within a tabbedui have fewer pixels between controls.
    Thanks,
    Marc

within a tabbedui have fewer pixels between controls.
this is better clue. i don't know if it is the only thing needs to be corrected.

go to tabbedui properties and look for css in the middle and there look for A5Container class padding. see what number you have. copy that number in your notepad. then change to something like 3 or 5 px to your liking display the tabbed ui in the browser and see if it solves your problem. you can always go back to what you have by not saving the tabbed ui or changing the value back to the number you have then saving.

i notice that you are using two different css, one for tabbedui possibly GrGray or GrBlue, for the ux GrRed. while they are good and better if you like them, consider newer ones like MobGray or MobBlue and MobRed. better yet mobile friendly styles like ios7( i won't know how it looks)
      good luck.

        Re: CSS driving me crazy!

Ok, with a lot of great help I THINK the issue is the A5Container class padding. No matter what you set your UX component's A5CWLayout class padding the UX inherits the padding from the tabbedui control. Having the Component Definition 'Use master style' in the tabbedui checked on or off made no difference.

I was wanting to use 2 pixels in my TabbedUI for the menu controls on the left. I tried -2px for the one control as far as bottom padding to remove space but that wouldn't work either.

The 'class padding' does not affect grids.
        Thanks,
        Marc

Try putting a container around the main UX controls and set your margin there.

Ouch, that really hurts. Container width makes it so hard to set controls properly AFAIAC. I always switch to control width since then I can "control" both the label width and the field width. I get how container width works and what it is useful for. But in my own experience I almost never have any uses for it. Why would they deprecate it? To make it harder to control the appearance of your UX? Instead of deprecating control width they should give us a WYSIWYG drag and drop form designer. Geeze!

you are looking in wrong place. ( if you are referring to the space between the buttons)
go to the tabbedui and select the button above the one you want to adjust and look for the property on the right - break height it should say 0.1in change that 2px and redisplay either in the browser or preview you will notice the difference.
to show i have exaggerated the effect.

              and the result:

if the above was not you are looking for, let me know what you want then i can see what needs to adjusted.
