Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

I have issues both in preview and if published to local host. One of them it gives me as error:

    XHTTPRequest Error:
    500 Internal Server Error
    Script ErrorError:Script:" /4centra/__a5RunGrid.a5w" line:62
    x_out = a5_ajax_grid(tmpl)
    Property not found
    tmpl.LookupParentAlias subelement not found.

Just submitted an issue report to alpha, so i'm confident it will be cured soon

      Re: New Official Release

I installed to 3341_4088 this morning and have been working on it all day with no issues. I just tested one of my lookups to a grid component from a field on a dialog, and it worked fine, also. I have some other lookups to grid components that I have not tested. Do you have a clue yet, Ger, about what it might be in yours that is finding the bug?

        Re: New Official Release

Carol, It is getting a little bit more clear, and i submitted another testcase to alpha they are investigating.

        I have 3 issues:

        1. see above
        2. if the fieldmapping specify fields in the lookupgrids which are not present anymore a clear errormessage is given. Formerly didn't throw an error. I consider this an improvement and the cure is trivial.

        3. i could identify en error i get with 6-7 lookupgrids in my application with all the same type of error:

Error executing OnGridInitialize event handler: command: e.tmpl.base_filter="tar_ruim.centra_kode = '"+words(e.tmpl.filter_initial_param Property not found
        e.tmpl.filter_initial_parameters subelement not found.
These lookupgrids are often called from grids which are on there turn embedded several levels deep dialogs and rowexpanders

        Will keep you posted

Note for the record: Again Alpha was very helpfull:
For issue 1 a solution will be in a new update. Only happened if the lookupgrid had a rowexpander and searchpart.
The cause for issue 3 was that we used an (undocumented) parameter: "e.tmpl.filter_initial_parameters" to convert the lookup dynamically set userfilter into a basefilter. This parameter was removed, and ofcourse not communicated being it intended for internal use only.

          Re: New Official Release

I just installed the 3341_4088 build and am having a weird issue. The issue only seems to effect people using IE 7 or 8. Users with these mentioned versions of IE have to hit Ctrl F5 to clear the browser cache every time they want to do a search. For example, do a search using the search grid, data populates, leave the page, come back, do another search, data does not populate, hit Ctrl F5, search works again, until they leave the page and come back. IE 9 works fine, Chrome works fine. Anybody have any ideas why IE 7 and 8 are requiring a Ctrl F5 to clear cache every single time a user goes to a new search page?
